Dr. Saifaldin Z. Al-Darraji’s Diplomatic Endeavors
Saifaldin Zaman AL-Darraji, born in Iraq in 1980, is an accomplished figure with a diverse background. Holding a Biotechnology degree from the University of Baghdad, he pursued further education in International Security and Global Governance at Birkbeck College, University of London, and earned a PGC in Strategic Leadership and Security from King’s College London. A member of the UK Royal College of Defense Studies (RCDS), Dr. AL-Darraji actively shapes security policies and strategies as a member and secretary of the Security Sector Reform Executive Committee (SSR) and Chairman of the Al-Mada Organisation for Development and Strategic Studies.
With extensive diplomatic experience, he served as the Head of Political Affairs and Counter-Terrorism at the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in the UK from 2016 to 2020 and worked in the Disarmament Section at the Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs from 2012 to 2016. Prior to diplomacy, he served as an Iraqi military officer (Captain) from 2005 to 2012.
Currently designated as the International Affairs Adviser at the Iraqi National Security Advisory, Dr. AL-Darraji is committed to contributing to Iraq’s development and security. Married with two children, he brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the field of international affairs and security.
